Read the result, not just the status
An XML structure check, an XSD schema check and a business-rule check cover different questions. The result should identify what was checked. Correct source data in the system that created the XML, export it again and repeat the precheck. SignECOC does not create or repair the manufacturer's eCoC data.
Before you continue
- Use the original IVI XML, not a PDF or renamed spreadsheet.
- Confirm the schema version and the intended EU or UK route.
- Resolve blocking messages before selecting a signing certificate.
Does a passed precheck guarantee acceptance?
No. File validation, signature verification and authority acceptance are separate stages. The receiving authority determines whether the submitted eCoC is accepted.
